Amsterdam City Guide
Our Favourite Things to See:
Of course, the Anne frank house is an absolute must when in Amsterdam but remember to book tickets in advance. Van Gogh museum is really amazing and filled with incredible art. We also love De hortus - one of Europe’s oldest botanical gardens, founded 1638.
Our Shopping Finds:
Wander around the 9 streets and explore all the great boutiques. We loved Fabienne Chapot along with many others…
Most Glam Hotel:
Pulitzer is a great boutique hotel in the heart of the 9 streets district.
For a Chic budget Hotel:
We love The Hoxton Hotel in Amsterdam. Perfect for a quick weekend away and it is in a great location. You are walking distance from so many sites and delicious restaurants.
Our Go-To for a Relaxed Brunch:
G’s brunch boat is the only brunch boat in the world and is a great way to see the city whilst feeling relaxed at the same time. If you prefer to stay on land then Bakers and Roasters is great too - we recommend the B & R Special! If you are more of a pancake person then Pancakes Amsterdam is THE place to go.
Healthy Lunch Spot:
Vegan restaurant Yerba does lots of delicious and healthy options.
Somewhere for a Smarter Dinner:
For great food in a super cool setting go to restaurant De Kas which is set in a chic garden conservatory - AMAZING FOOD! Equally we love Breda for its amazing food with the perfect ambience.
Low Key Restaurant for Dinner:
Bar Fisk brings the lively, no-strings attached hospitality of Tel Aviv markets to Amsterdam, offering the best fish dishes around. We also loved Café-Restaurant Stork for an atmospheric and lively crowd!
A Glam Cocktail Bar:
Door 74 is a super glam and cool 'speakeasy' cocktail bar – classic and creative cocktails. A MUST.
The Best Spa:
The Guerlain Spa at Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam is the perfect place to head to after a weekend so that you go home rested.
Lucie’s Top Tip…
Make sure you hire a bike and cycle around the city – it’s beautiful and easy cycling for everyone!
