Pubs in the Cotswolds with Rooms
The Cotswolds is beautiful with so many things to do and see. All these pubs are not only great pubs for food and drinks but also they have lovely rooms.
Artist Residence
South Leigh, Oxfordshire
The Artist Residence has added another great site to their collection, a stylish boutique hotel in the Cotswolds.
There are five rooms in the main house and three suites in the outbuildings, plus a quirky converted Shepherd’s hut in the garden. Each room is very different with great interiors and lovely art pieces. We loved the barn suite. The linens and the beds are super soft making it very hard to get out of bed in the morning!
The staff are all young, very friendly and helpful.
The Mason Arms is a great English pub and worth a visit even if you aren’t staying at the hotel. They source all their food from local farmers and have their own kitchen garden.
There is a lot to do in the area, whether visiting Bicester Village for a bit of retail therapy or visiting the many historical sites such as Blenheim Palace.
Charlbury, Oxfordshire
For some of the best pub bedrooms in the Cotswolds visit The Bull Inn in Charlbury, a small Cotswold town (perfect for the train from Paddington and close to Soho Farmhouse).
Willow and Charlie Crossley purchased the 16th Century inn in 2015 and gave it a complete make-over. Willow’s creativity and incredible talent for interiors is evident in every room.
The Bull Inn has large bedrooms with beautiful wallpapers and fabrics and make for the perfect weekend getaway or mid-week night away.
Charlie’s real passion is food, so enjoy some great pub classics along with some more refined dishes.
All round, The Bull Inn is a great place for a night away in the Cotswolds.
Swinbrook, Oxfordshire
The Swan Inn Swinbrook is a beautiful Cotswolds country pub perched on the River Windrush. A truly magical setting.
Great staff, all very friendly. Nic and Archie, who own the pub, are both very present and on hand to welcome you.
Food is key here and it’s all about knowing where it comes from. Ingredients are locally sourced. The fish is a must and refreshingly good for somewhere so far from the sea!
If you eat (or drink!) too much you can just stumbled up to one of their lovely bedrooms.
There are some great walks in the area, perfect for a Sunday morning.
Kingham, Oxfordshire
The Wild Rabbit, in the heart of the Cotswolds, is a perfect venue for a special occasion in a relaxed atmosphere. It’s smarter than your usual pub but still has a charming feel.
For the summer months, there is a great garden with lots of seating and in the winter there are log fires and warm rugs.
The Wild Rabbit is part of the Daylesford Group, the décor is clean and crisp with muted colours.
The food is all about sourcing the finest ingredients from local farmers and keeping it seasonal. The menu is very British.
The rooms are beautifully decorated and the beds extremely comfortable.
Enjoy visiting Dayelsford around the corner during your stay at The Wild Rabbit.
